i'm really excited for the collapse of bird site into a more decentralized web. i wanna read things on people's blogs again. i want small websites which people decorate and make their own so that i can feel like a welcomed guest when i visit them.

you could chalk this up to nostalgia for my neopets days, if you want, but i think truthfully its because during the pandemic i begun to move a lot of my life online, and its sad to see the web be monopolised by a handful of companies trying to acquire and maintain users to milk them for as much cash as possible

turns out floats have some restrictions on esp32 (due to hardware acceleration) but doubles are fine, so i had to parse the 32 bit float data as doubles without passing float. this took me 5 hours to figure out lmao

It was a couple days ago, but I recently passed 12 years on HRT. It doesn't feel like a big deal to me, but that in itself feels a bit like a big deal. I wish I could show my teenage self me today. It would have meant so much to me to see even one older trans masc person back then. But also, this is almost exactly how I dreamt of looking. You can just be who you want to be. I did it. I want to tell myself back then that we did it. We made it.

this feels weird to explicitly ask, but if you've had a positive experience with ur #tangara can you get in the comments? it's hard to keep my head in a good place when i'm struggling financially and yet still spending a large chunk of my time assembling units and responding to issues/emails and so much of what i see about it is where it's gone wrong or someone is unhappy. some positivity could really help me rn i think.
