Today is also the 10th anniversary of the Gezi protests. An election this important coinciding with an anniversary this important makes me feel everything even more in this #TurkeyElection day.

Voting has ended about 20 mins ago. It was not so unusual, classic rigging attempts in places where it was expected. But it seems like AKP was more nervous and aggressive than before. Now we’re going to wait until the broadcasting ban is lifted. #TurkeyElection

Current results are 52% Erdogan and 48% Kılıçdaroğlu. I don’t think it’s going to change from here. We’re going deep into economic crisis, even more oppression and fascist tendencies powered by Islamists in Erdogan’s coalition, and a generally messed up years. And right now there’s a convoy of cars celebrating it right outside my apartment. #TurkeyElection

It looks like global #infosec community hasn’t noticed it yet but there seems to be a major breach happened at #Turkey’s e-government system, leaking almost everyone’s private information online. https://www.duvarenglish.com/millions-of-turkish-residents-private-data-leaked-online-news-62538There are many odd details about the breach: no one claimed responsibility yet but there were two websites at which you can access all the data with a subscription. Also no details about the scope or whether it’s also sold somewhere else.

FWIW, the website part smells like a distraction from what’s actually happening and it might be something bigger than it seems. But the available information about the whole thing is very limited so all I can do is make some guesses.

@Wolven I want to use dark mode more but most of them are doing a poor job with it and makes it useless for me because of my astigmatism. I can only use it if it’s well designed or have additional options to play around with the color scheme. (I have a whole rant about it in me, waiting for the right time to write.)

@clive I was also afraid of it too but after the day one, putting it immediately back to the case has become a natural habit. I only lost a bud one time and it was because one of my brother’s cats knocked it out of the table when we weren’t around and one of the buds flew under the couch. 😄

@ZachWeinersmith in Türkiye it’s always known that way possibly because it’s a solid part of the culture. It’s called “köyün delisi” in Turkish and in movies and novels, it’s always the person who’s mentally disabled but usually ends up being one of the wisest person in the story and/or causes a big revelation.
