       @futurebird a phone/tablet with an expandable display. I’m not talking about those folding phones. I want something that can fit in my pocket and I can also roll out to be large enough so I can read an A4 sized page (bonus points if it can go even larger!). It can also roll out to any size in between.Sometimes I need a small screen and sometimes I want to read something big. I only want one device.

       @futurebird i recently mentored a bright high school who wanted to learn about LLMs. She came up with the idea of using LLMs to “predict” the future price of a stock based on past performance and some recent headlines.I was impressed that she built what she set out to. Of course, it didn’t work at all to actually predict anything, and I used this as a lesson on what LLMs are *not* good for.

       @futurebird in British Columbia, COVID and flu shots are free (as long as you’re on the provincial health plan (ie- not a visitor)). You just make an appointment through the government website and go to your local pharmacy.In the past, it was controlled who got their shots first (ie- elders and immunocompromised were allowed their shots first). That might have changed though.
