@Xibanya Ok but wait there because Italian is a modern construct that coalesced from Tuscan dialect in the fascist years basically. You're reading libretti luckily written in the dialect that survived (Ok, it started with Dante in the 1300, but still)

@Xibanya I'm... not sure. As an Italian speaker, the turns of phrasing and structure are very much stuffy and archaic-sounding and strictly-for-the-scene, there. I cannot yet really understand the last 5 lines.
