@MiaWinter @cleo @puniko to be fair, they had been working on the project for a while, but had to release it in a less than complete state because of the shutdown of Twitter API.I really don't think that this is a master plan to undermine the open web or something

@cleo @MiaWinter @puniko so maybe I'm being overly generous - I saw it as "we're doing our best to provide a good experience, and that means we're restricting things to servers we can test on, as we grow."But @ivory @paul is a human being and can definitely respond for himself.I've used tapbots products back when I was on IOS and I never felt there was an intentional attempt to make a lesser user experience ever

I checked out bluesky and it's amazing how a small, invite only clone of mastodon can rebuild everything that was bad about Twitter in weeks I followed only "nice" people and somehow my feed was a toxic mess of angry people, clout chasing, depressing unfiltered reposted news, etc...Basically everyone who wanted Twitter not on Twitter went there.Not to mention the quality of the service is terrible, the app is junk, posts are invisible outside of the invite bubble.#bluesky #mastodon #wtf

Being depressed and isolated is such a self fulfilling prophecy.It leaves you with no energy to be supportive, kind, a good friend, a decent person... Which then makes the people around you who care eventually leave.I can't describe how bad it was for me when I was in that space, and how many people I've walked away from lately now that I'm doing just good enough.It's like being dehydrated, which prompts your body to reject liquids which in turn makes stuff worse.If you are in that space, I beg you to find even a little bit of energy somehow to sip that water. I know people suck but don't burn your remaining support network just as you need it
