@phnt To my knowledge ATP doesn’t utilize federation. It’s a different model of decentralized networking. But, yes, it is very complicated/complex. Nostr, compared to AP and ATP is very simple. I don’t see why Nostr couldn’t be easily salvaged. @dcc

@phnt Actually, Nostr is more like a community than ATP. ATP is entirely individualistic with PDSs which get queried by relays and populated in app views. Nostr is all relays. You could write (a) a good client + (b) provide nice, curated relays and then have a solid community/contender built on Nostr. I think that’s kinda what the Nos.Social people were trying to do but essentially dropped the project. The client was also still pretty janky. @dcc

BlueSky is way too toxic and terrible of a network. I am deleting the app. Might delete my account outright as well. It’s just not fun to use. All the users are aggressive, hysterical extremists. There’s no engagement and it’s all hostility surrounding USPOL.

Looks like the MD-11 that crashed out of SDF experienced catastrophic failure of #1 which tragically led to a compressor stall of #2. Unbelievable. Heart goes out to the families.

@Zergling_man It’s more similar to Nostr insofar as app views populate content from relays that pull data from personal data servers (individual user servers that can be hosted anywhere). Whereas Nostr uses relays exclusively and users can self-host personal relays or leverage/use public relays to store data. Or potentially like every user being a single-user instance on the Fediverse.
