@eighthave @aleksandrayulia @fdroidorg the thing is, isn't this already the case of #Apple??? they have a monopoly with their Apple Store, it is almost impossible install apps in iPhone independently so if the EU is already allowing Apple having such monopoly what makes it different for #google???

@m0xEE checkout https://bots.delta.chat/quickstart.htmland also https://github.com/deltachat-bot/echo for languages other than #pythonwith the deltabot-cli high-level lib it is super easy to create delta chat bots that reply to commands etc in very few lines of code, all with end-to-end encryption, and you can easily register bots in the chatmail open relays network (as long as it is e2e encrypted you can receive the notifications even in classic email servers)@jae

@lexinova you don't need perfect forward secrecy... first of all, it is useless if you don't use short-term disappearing messages, second, it is useful if you can have only a single profile like on Signal, where you mix sending memes to your mom with planing a government boicot in the same account, any serious activist will use a dedicated profile they can just throw away, together with all its suspicious chats, this is super easy to do in Delta Chat, impossible with Signal@delta

@lexinova (and by "you don't need" I mean this shouldn't be the reason for you to not use Delta Chat, PFS is appealing on paper but hardly ever useful in practice, more in chats with family and friends where you want to keep chat history, not everything to disappear)

@lexinova glad you have such a privacy conscious family, most people don't want to put the efforts of saving every family photo or important message in Saved Messages, and then you are not protecting those with PFS anywaysalso, for PFS to work your enemy needs to control or have access to the server you use, which is easier with a centralized server but not so much with decentralized platforms like Delta Chat, can you point out when PFS saved anyone? never

@lexinova I didn't say it is not good to have, I say it is not a reason for you to upfront reject any solution if it doesn't have the typical fusswords out of contextabout the operator of the relay I use, yes, I trust him, it is MYSELF, I don't need to trust a 3rd party...if I would need to do some dangerous business I would create a new account which takes 3 taps and use that then easily delete it with all its chats and contacts, you never replied to this point of using multi-account, well

@midge @hdrc @Tutanota #DeltaChat all the way, no phone numbers, no personal data AT ALL required for registration, decentralized, in-chat mini-apps, it even had polls before #signal and in a much more flexible way, together with collaborative editor, calendar, shopping lists, split-bills, mini-games, all #e2ee without depending on any server

@maikel nice, but having a whole #chatmail server closed doors just for yourself and perhaps a few friends is a bit of a waste of resources, you could open the doors to other "homeless"/server-less people, even 7k users would only use around 20-30% RAM usage in a 4GB RAM server and only ~10GB disk usage and 0% CPU usage on averageand you could then close the doors when you feel like you have too much users

I ported to #webxdc TIC-80 fantasy #computer for making, playing and sharing tiny #games you can import/export files with add/get commands!with this you can create #retro games in #lua, #fennel, #python, #ruby, #javascript etc and play/share them with friends as in-chat apps in #DeltaChat / #ArcaneChat I would like to expose the webxdc API to TIC-80 games so they can do networking/multiplayer and send in-chat messages#fantasyconsole #console #retrogaming #tic80 #pico8

@madamada the internal dependency #yggmail has some bugs that cause message drop/lost or delivery delays, but I am hyped with #tyr and hope the developer keeps improving itthis concept could even be expanded, making such an app an "universal bridge" providing that fake email server to #DeltaChat while then internally it is connecting to Telegram, WhatsApp, XMPP, etc. basically allowing you to use that networks with Delta Chat
