@simon I love a good automated 'git bisect', always very pleasant when it finds the commit so quickly.

🙏 Many thanks to everyone who supported me on the way.🤯 Over 200 people read the beta and early access releases and gave me ~1000 pieces of feedback, which really helped refine the content.😊 The end-of-chapter feedback links remain in place if you find anything else to change for a future update.

@simon Good point! Environments are in no way “virtual”, “simulated” or “unreal”. We don’t “virtually” install packages into them. Indeed the word “virtual” never comes up...

#Git mini tip: you can provide a commit message on the command line *and* extend it in your editor with:git commit -em "Reflorb the skub"Combining -e (--edit) and -m (--message).Great for starting with a title and then expanding with more info in your editor.

#GitHub tip:Don’t post “Any updates?” style comments on open source threads. Any updates would be there already. Open source is a gift; bugging maintainers acts like you're entitled to results. I just mark such comments as spam.If you want to see something done, do something to help: research specifications, find an existing implementation, write a test case, draft the docs, write a draft implementation, do some code review, test the PR locally, or just anything to help the project.

It covers many useful ways to make your tests go brrrr, like measuring with profilers, activating parallelism, skipping unnecessary setup work, and using in-memory storage and cache backends. Some of the package information is a little bit out of date (targeting Django 3.2, 2021), but all the fundamentals still hold.#Django
