@simon in the Rails world there’s a joke to never use ‘has_one’ unless you know for 100% certain there’s no possible way you’ll get ever need ‘has_many’.Even then I’ve still made the mistake. 😂

Happy Friday!I’m curious to hear what YOUR Friday looks like. Getting that look into peoples regular days has always been my favorite part of reading #blog’s, and lends itself well to here too. Soo… What are you up today? How is today different from other days? What are you most excited about?#journal #question #prompt #today

Today I’m working on adding iOS subscription support to the https://hardcover.app app so we can resubmit it to the App Store 🤞. I have a physical therapy appointment for my knee (I’m 6mo post ACL surgery), and will jump on the Peloton for a bit. Later, my wife and I are exploring Red Butte Gardens for their Valentines Day setup.Aside from PT & VDay, it’s a typical Friday. We prefer going out on non-busy nights.I’m most excited about redoing my photo pages on https://adamfortuna.com. 📸

@seldo that happens to me a lot too. I’ll start the day and realize one of them didn’t make contact with the case and was on all night.

This #nike ad is incredible. It features an anime version of Megan Rapinoe and a killer ‘90s Saturday morning theme song. Such an amazing celebration of an iconic American athlete. It’s only a minute long and had me smiling the entire time.https://youtu.be/yOOb52AJOzo

@anders I used quite a bit of this template on my own site then customized on top of it: https://tailwindui.com/templates/spotlightIt’s a paid template. If you’re doing a lot of UI work then buying the entire library can help speed up learning. The templates are in React, but the components are react/Vue or html. Not sure how tricky it’d be to migrate to 11ty. Some parts that use a lot of js would be harder than others (theme selector for example).

@anders Its JSX, so it’s all HTML with additional syntax for loops, dynamicly adding classes, etc. I don’t remember much of it having elaborate React/Next content, other than some code for MDX which 11ty would take care of.The hardest part is probably combining a bunch of individual components into single templates. It’s very component heavy, so you’d need to do a lot of work to flatten it into a single template.

@khm ohh I didn’t realize you could change DNs on a Kobo. 🤔 That’s a neat option! For Hardcover we’d love to have Kobo devices be able to sync their progress with our site. Do you know if there’s a similar hack that might allow for sending progress to a server of their choice?
