Last RT. I participated in crowdfunding #FreedomBox some years ago. Time and again, looking at the sticker I received and put in an external hdd, I thought about what happened to the project. I am happy to see that it is alive and kicking.

Schon in Panik?

(And Why You, A Leftist, Should Be On It)" by @shonalika covering the basics and pointing out four advantages of Mastodon over things like twitter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQwREOg0a9s- A FAQ-style "Guide to Mastodon" by @noelle: https://github.com/joyeusenoelle/GuideToMastodon/

Today I joined @codeberg e.V. as supporting member. I like how they sent me the raw JSON record that will be stored in the membership database so that I can check if the data is correct.

Hi, I've been around the Fediverse for some time now but never introduced myself.I am a librarian from Cologne working on tools and projects around Linked Open Usable Data. I love the open, decentralized web and using/creating/maintaining free software. I also do some LIS teaching on IT topics.I am tooting in English and in German but not frequently. I also toot for @lobid, @skohub and @swib.#introductions #introduction

There is this conference "Semantic Web in Libraries"(SWIB) which I am involved in organizing. Each year, there's a great bunch of people meeting. You have something interesting to share about #LinkedData in libraries or related institutions? Or have some ideas on how libraries could contribute more to the growth and maintenance of the Fediverse? Please consider a submission (which is only an abstract). The deadline has just been extended to 11 July 2022: https://swib.org/swib22/ #swib22

Like the last two years, #swib22 will be held online in the end of November with help from the nice people of @collocall that provide the infrastructure (BigBlueButton, live streaming, Mattermost) and support.Since 2009, ZBW & hbz have been providing funding and staff to make the annual conference happen. Not to forget the wonderful programme committee that is doing a great job at putting together the programme.SWIB also has a Mastodon presence at @swib.

@textfiles @internetarchive @brewsterkahle Have you considered running a hometown instance? (It's a Mastodon fork that supports local posts and is maintained by @darius: https://github.com/hometown-fork/hometown ) I imagine being it a good choice for an organization as you can choose for a post to stay local and not federate, thus enabling org-internal-only exchange.
