@EU_Commission You just 'protect' them from ever learning what privacy is. And you don't even know how this client-side scanning should work, you just tell companies to 'do it well' – and they won't.Want to protect children? Make social, financial, medical help, daycare, education available to all families, strengthen parents, splash helpline-info for (possible) paedophiles all over the continent, boost media competency etc. pp.So much that could be done.BigBrother tech won't solve it.

@EU_CommissionWhich commitment will you reaffirm tomorrow? The one of online privacy would be good for a start. Think the worst of what mass surveillance has done in the past and is doing at present. Then think again what it could do in the future. Stop client-side scanning before it is too late – you will not be able to herd it in ever after.@humanetech

@ErikUden Wenn du Angestellter bist und nicht Beamter, dann hast du außerhalb deiner Arbeitszeit keine extra besondere Treuepflicht (und auch Beamte haben das Recht auf außerdienstliche politische Aktivität). Was mich wundert: bei fristloser Kündigung muss eigentlich der Personalrat zustimmen. Wende dich unbedingt an den PR, ob das passiert ist. Und an die Rechtsberatung der Gewerkschaft. (Dass du deine Finger benutzen kannst, heißt außerdem nicht automatisch, dass du arbeitsfähig bist.)

@stux Couldn't you try to agree on a budget beforehand? Like a range of 20-30 Euros. You could at least get rid of the imbalance.(In our family we have agreed on no gifts at all except for children, and I prefer that – otherwise you always end up with gifts nobody really likes. I do like to make gifts but not on forced occasions. I rather give them when I come across a good one.)
