@wjmaggos @fedijedi I was just going on about this last night. People are going to bluesky because there are more people there right now talking about a particular topic and everyone wants to be 'in the room where all the action is.' And I don't want to sound like a sanctimonious asshole, but the inevitable outcome of Bluesky is its eventual enshittification. It's a billionaire owned company that will eventually need to make money. Guess I'll be seeing everyone back here in a few short years…

@ElleGray I dunno, I think this is good marketing. Slightly inappropriate, breaks through, and grabs attention. Is it questionable? Sure, but we all stopped and noticed it which is more than I can say for 90% of ads (including mine).

We could do away with 97% of financial trading and sure, a lot of people would lose their jobs (but not too many) and the world wouldn't be any worse off for it. There would be less superyachts and fewer skyscrapers, but so what?
