@stefano this is so frustrating. I have collected a bunch of android devices but I am unable to exploit, android 4 or 7 on it but closed. PostmarketOS is noble but I don't understand their goal.I don't need Android either, I need to be able to use their network, screen and audio interface without downloading 200GiB of AOSP, 500MiB of blobs and building it for 2 days on my 8cores CPU to see it fails/bricks the device :).

@stefano Are we talking about wayland (lib/proto) or compositors (kwin/mutter,wlroots)?I mean, "wayland" is pretty frozen, isn't it ? All the rage happen within the compositors.Sorry if I say stupid things.

@jbzfn @stefano Sorry, it isn't really a good tutorial. :/> ... even if it’s not the safest thing to do ...So don't! Show the best one.> In FreeBSD we don’t need them at all but are useful ...Is it needed or not? if not, don't mention it.I know it's difficult to write such procedure but I think the issue here come from a Beastie's attitude, so willing to demonstrate his OS can do it but cut the corners when a thing isn't that easy or hacky, which goes against the "en-gi-nee-red" OS!

@jbzfn @stefano Stop this rivalry. Personally I enjoy both OSes but docker/podman in term of admin experience is just superior.

First @stefano, I don't doubt about your intention :) @jbzfn "Rivalry" was maybe a bit of strong word, but their some kind of over-doing from beasties when showing off things about jails for basics setup and call it a day.My bad if you've been offended, tho, that was not my intend.

I wish FreeBSD to select a container orchestration solution, stick with it, put that under their umbrella. They have a "window" right now.The missing link.could be a nice project name :)

@stefano so, is it related to Android? Why did they mention Pixel update while it also affects Samsung phones?I was planning to buy a Watch 5 actually.

@xbezdick @stefano That's the wrong target, such DCs and providers are very well optimized and more energy conscious, even more since RU-UA crisis.on-prem waste is real. it doesn't mean you have to rush for the cloud, you just have to change your BIGFOUR mindset. Why do you need a freaking TMA, a remote rigid indian sweatshop to manage the freaking hypervisor you have 50m from the decision maker office? Why do you still use a mainframe?

@xbezdick @stefano The last joke I heard of before I quit that client: vSphere on Azure.just WTF?!And I prefer to not talk about the massive resources they have on-prem. No way they would get back a 1/10 of that on Azure price-to-price. Sure, products are "managed" on Azure but still....

@jhx i find the "onestart" action to be superfluous and easily forgettable tbh."start" shouldn't imply that service must be enabled first.Beside that, I love the simplicity of rc on FreeBSD.I'm an OpenRC user but it tends to be ridiculously confusing.Let's not talk about *who* you know :P

@stux Unfortunately, train transportation is a mafia.I'm an heavy commuter: train and bus. It's crazy the amount of BS I could see with the train.Public transport should be transparent : contracts, statistics etc... Like the politics in fact :)
