You guys are right self custody is critical. As a non technical person I am using WoS because it has LNURL and regularly sweep the balance into a self custodied wallet. When I first got on Nostr I was trying to find a self custody solution for receiving zaps but there aren’t any *unless you run a lightning node*

Having no cash is retarded because when your car breaks down or water tank needs replaced you need to sell at a loss to pay for when shit happens. If you get paid in fiat and pay your bills in fiat you are not living a bitcoin standard. A bitcoin standard would be getting paid in bitcoin and paying all your bills directly in bitcoin ie. receiver accepts bitcoin for payment. Not just converting to and from fiat that is a fiat standard.

It doesn’t matter the cost of the water heater is in dollars not bitcoin if you have to buy the heater when bitcoin is $45K vs $90k it’s going to cost you double the sats. If we truely lived in a bitcoin standard then the water heater would cost 100k sats ALL YEAR and not fluctuate with fiat price. Not the case. Having some cash for shit like this ensures the bitcoin you own stays in cold storage instead of costing you double. It’s not that difficult guys.
