One of my chickens has been sick. She's finally getting better but hasn't regained her appetite. I just gave her a few mealworms and she happily ate those! Yay! Kinda wondering if I should start a mealworm colony. Apparently they're very easy to raise if you're not grossed out by bugs. I'm not, so it might be useful!

Ok I built a mealworm house! It's on my desk. Hopefully I get some good food for my chickens! It will take 2-4 months but time goes reeeeally weird right now so that could be tomorrow! 😵💫

@webmink @neilhimself a bit in the Kickstarter says they wanted to retain full creative freedom so that seems pretty sensible.

@m @foxhkron yeah I was gonna say a/c and possibly heating. Also I think US houses tend to be larger so there's more space to cool and heat.

@m @foxhkron we have an HVAC system (heating, ventilation , and air conditioning) that does heating and cooling but the cooling part which I refer to as the AC has this big ol compressor that sits outside. It's huge, like our power bill. 😅 but here in Georgia it's very necessary- most of July and August is around 100f (37c) when you factor in the heat index, and may, June and September are regularly in the 90s. Today the high was 85f (29c).

Just got back from doc. I did not feel heard at all. I think I've been sick since the end of August. I've had times I felt better, but never all the way. It's just been up and down like a yo yo. This sucks. He prescribed antibiotics (did that last month and they helped for a bit) and steroids (haven't done that yet) and a refill of my inhaler. I hope the meds work this time!!! I'm starting to feel really worn down. Just a cough and pure exhaustion.

He kept telling me to test again for COVID. I tested at home multiple times. When all this started I got one of the "good" tests at a doc office (those are hard to get now). It's always negative. It could maybe be long COVID from when I had it in Feb but it'd be weird to be asymptomatic all spring and summer. COVID -is- weird though so who knows. Either way it's not an active infection.

I hate when I feel like a doc isn't listening to me. I guess as long as I get meds that help in the long run it doesn't matter. But don't dismiss me like I don't know what I'm talking about, I've lived in this body for decades- I know how it works. Or at least how it breaks down, I guess I really can't explain the biological processes or whatever. But I can definitely tell you when something isn't right.
