@DocScranton @Telvannichad What did he actually do to eradicate chaos? The only thing I can think of is rebuilding the webway, and Magnus destroying that was always part of the ruinous plans. So really it just fucked shit up more.The Horus Heresy is heavily influenced by the Iraq war which was occurring at the time of publishing and I think the Emperors war on chaos is supposed to be compared to the US's war on terror. Pointless and counter-productive.

@DocScranton @Telvannichad I dont think there is any question that his secret project was restoring the webway. In theory it would've weakened chaos, but by no means eradicate it. Basically humanity would no longer flat-out require the warp for the existence of the species. It would still cause lots of issues though. That said I thought Legion was boring and stopped reading it lel.

@slevemcdichael @Telvannichad @CaptainFuggetaboutit Full disclosure, my first-hand exposure to 40K is basically limited to like 15 Heresy books and 2 video games. That said, I've heard Mechanicum from the Heresy series works stand-alone and Titanicus, set 10,000 years later, ties right into it well. The machine boys are always some of my favorite characters when they come up.

@Telvannichad @DocScranton @Eris On a related note, transhuman demi-gods are hard to write for and it's the Heresy series' biggest weakness. Horus, Fulgrim, and Lorgar work pretty well because of their human vulnerabilities. Guys like Lion and Guilliman suck because their character traits are "best" and "very good".
