@EngOnDemand I am definitely not discounting this. My mother, who is in her 90s, and I, in my 50s, got extremely ill in early December with chest congestion and very severe cough. It took us both about three weeks, right up to Christmas, to mostly shake it.We both usually fluff stuff off easily. The last time we we're ill was in 2009 with the swine flu. I almost took her to the ER three times. It would not surprise me if we were tested, we would show to have been exposed. It was very rough.

@REX One thing that struck me was President Trump took his motorcade right through the middle of the MAGA crowd, many of whom were waving flags on long poles, all within touching distance of the vehicles including "The Beast" and I can't imagine any were pre-screened. It has been a very many decades since I have seen anything close to that. That and his smile and "thumbs up" were quite uplifting.

@EarlThePearls I'm in the same market, but don't watch any TV. I even get up and leave the room or turn off the radio when I'm listening to Rush on KTOK 1000 and the Fox "News" national "news" breaks come on followed by local "news".Given the COVID coverage as it is, it is truly encouraging in my mind that more people haven't found a fraidy hole, crawled in, and covered themselves up. It's up to someone more learned than I to figure out how to break the programming however. Sad.

@REX My guess is he's headed home to his base at Offutt AFB in Omaha.We had one fly to where I live and shoot some practice approaches at the local AFB and then the local commercial airport not too long ago.Aircraft can choose whether or not to appear on public tracking sites and he has chosen to be visible FWIW.

@curtis @REX . . and just because we aren't out in the streets breaking windows and setting things on fire, as is not our proclivity - or even peacefully marching at the capitols, doesn't mean we aren't nail spittin' furious.President Trump has all the backing he needs to do what is necessary to right this ship.I believe more patriots would heed the call to "rise" if they had a firm foundation on which to stand. Currently, the fog of war with disinformation everywhere makes it difficult.

@EarlThePearls I'll be glad when they get most of it picked up. The piles of brush are difficult to see around at intersections.I hope the contractors working where I live will put notices on the houses so residents can move their cars out of the street.

@EarlThePearls Don't want to be too much of an Eyeore because I want this overwith - NOW! First the leaf laden tree ice storm and then .....I'm not looking forward to the probable busted water pipes. @EarlThePearls @VagabondForTruth I'm not particularly concerned with the sewer. all the "P" traps where wastewater collects for the sinks and the toilet are inside the heated space, the tub has hot water run through it regularly and beyond that the main sewer line is 4" in diameter and not under pressure.

@Clayrjr I will allow and agree with Thomas and the poker crowd that a lot is going on that doesn't make any sense at all. Having said that: Considering the peril this Republic is facing, after all that has happened - or hasn't - over the last four years, I cannot say I wasn't disappointed, although my bar was not very high regarding this speech to begin with. In my opinion, November 3rd and the Constitutionally unacceptable aftermath must be corrected before I look one day beyond today.

@HunDriverWidowI certainly hope that is a correct assessment.As time passes with no visible action, people I know are becoming resigned to the situation as it is and as it has always been within the scope of their memories. Having voted to the best of my ability and then being betrayed by republicans for decades, this doesn't seem too much different - just on a much larger and more inexcusable scale.Given my experiences, I'm having a very difficult time finding a solid rung to hold onto.

He is so correct.I spent my career as a general Carpenter - not for the money. There is scarcely little of it, but because I enjoyed having the knowledge and skills to build or repair, in a workmanlike manner, just about anything from foundation to roof - from framing to drywall to cabinets and trim. 1/2@Lonestar
