@BernieWonIowa @MeanwhileinCanada warming is a third derivative of emissions ~ the amount of CO2e in the atmosphere controls the amount of warming per unit of timeSo an emissions plateau wont 'stop it worsening' - it just means we are no longer adding carbon at an *accelerating* rate. Emission plateau means we are adding carbon at a *steady* rate of increase This means the total CO2e (equivalent) in the atmosphere continues to rise And the amount of warming is controlled by this amountSo if the CO2e in the atmosphere stopped rising and levelled off It would *still* get worse Bc the amount of heat above normal is still getting added at that level It's not until the amount of CO2e in the atmosphere declines that the amount of heat entering per unit time will decrease, and will still be higher then Holocene levels until we get back to a 'safe' amount of CO2e in the atmosphereLike 350ppm ~ I believe that's what 350.org was on about

@itnewsbot given that helium is already in short supply, I don't see how this could possibly scale up to a global transportation system
