@wziminer @MarcusJ65 And she's bringing Masters along for the slow but increasingly certain victory ride ๐Ÿ‘

@darulharb Right, if course - but I intended to discuss this from the utility/commodity perspective. The utility as a medium of exchanging value decreases with a slowing network, and the network slows as miners exit the market due to increasing costs of electricity plus decreasing rewards (halving)Are the costs of "mining" a Bitcoin around $24,000 right now (asking in my ignorance) - compare that to the value of a Bitcoin. Extrapolate fewer miners as costs continue to rise.

@darulharb Soooo many prototypes - I am onboard with decentralized crypto currency, but like anything else it's 5000 bluesky moonshots, 500 venomous snakes, 50 Rube Goldberg contraptions, and maybe 5 viable conceptsCentral bank cryptos seem creepy, but then again, we already use serialized paper currency - not that hard to track individual bills from point to point, if TPTB aren't alreadyIn the end, all currencies are just IOU debt chits ๐Ÿ˜„ gold silver and big stones with holes included

@SusanInVA Interesting twist!I don't understand why or how so many folks appear to have "given up on Trump" for a handful of what seem to be distasteful or odd statements. Purity tests are foolish, and we ought not adopt "cancel culture" methods, right? And which is more likely: Trump the Strategist, or Trump the Senile Has been? Not arguing 5D chess - just old fashioned poker ๐Ÿคจ

@darulharb Heh that sounds like the American revolution - the initial cannons were privately owned (2nd amendment musket argument? Individuals owned cannons back then!) and most of the new ones once the Revolution was underway came from capturing British cannons.Cheering and hoping for the Iranians these days ๐Ÿ™

@Jaime With all of the uncounted same-day drop-off ballots at the end of election day, the math seems/seemed to indicate Masters would/will come out 20-30k ahead in the end. The initial post-election counts seemed to support a catch-up trend... then the last two batches added have reversed things in the opposite direction.

@carolinacally Q: what do you get with mail-in ballot stuffers and election equipment that has 25% adjudiciation rates?A: Competition between corrupt groups for the most vote fraud

@umad80 Here's the part that befuddles me - IF ballot stuffer groups have games the system by generating real ballots fraudulently, evidenced by dozens or hundreds at abandoned warehouses, college dorm rooms, etc - how exactly can Republicans "play the game better" in blue areas? I can't imagine you're suggesting Republicans also cheat. I also can't imagine the cheaters in power will legally surrender their source of "winning elections"

@darulharb Heh, I remember when she said elections were illegitimate, then 4 years later said they were legitimate AND secure, then 2 years later said maybe they really are illegitimate - but only if her battalions of ballotstuffers were foiled on their way to dropboxes

@carolinacally Very cool, CallyI find that Rucker's musical artistry reminds us we can be better than we are, might already be, and probably were. Not so much dramatically ripping away the bullshit, as blowing a gentle wind that smells of appe pie, a farmhouse, and relaxation after a hard's day work of doin something meaningful

@Debradelai I don't think it's stupid - it's just one of those weird aspects of how the system works. There's a logical, rational reason for it, too - just interesting, Saul, that's all. They work with the DTCC - Depository Trust Company

@Debradelai Yeah, well... that's why we have the FDIC, SEC, and so onSo when people who think they own something get ripped off, their claims get settled.High trust society - when the bank takes YOUR deposit, loans it out foolishly, that's not your loan but they do owe you for the money you "loaned" them

@Debradelai Agree to disagree, fine with thatI'm interested to see what happens when CalPERS and other blue state pension funds start going bellyup next year. And after reviewing the SF city/county budget - holy shit, their goose is cooked! All their assumptions are out in orbit somewhere beyond Jupiter. Looks like a bunch of dominoes set up to me. Illiquidity and insolvency.
