@acjay honestly I never did much on twitter. It seemed to have very little to do with socializing and nothing to do with interaction, more about simple statements and gaining followers as a popularity contest.

@skanman @freemo same here, I never took to Twitter, it's not based on socializing but more on popularity. I much prefer fediverse design seeing as we choose who we want to socialize with and still remain able to socialize with others.

@freemo I never fully understood the whole "I don't so you shouldn't either and if you do then I won't talk to you either and all my other friends better listen to me or they won't be my friends anymore" school yard stuff 🤣 isn't that the exact opposite of what the fediverse is?

@obi @freemo @trinsec @JoshuaACasey in some cases it would be nice having the ability to edit. I don't always find the right words to get my point across on the first try. Being able to edit the toot could save some explaining. I don't believe anyone reads things the same therefore it might make sense to me and confuse the rest of the tooters :ablobthinking: maybe that's just me 🤣

@freemo not my call to make but my opinion is the more you give in to bullies the more they bully. I would absolutely support the change and even agree with it had you been doing it from your own free will. Sorry I can't really sugar coat it, wish I had an easier way to put it. As far as I am concerned they're a bunch of hypocrites with rules about treating people nicely all while bullying others to conform to their rules. If you need to kick me out for my words I won't hold it against you in any way.

I joined mastodon because it was supposed to be different. It's odd isn't it, that those who seem to want freedom to socialize and create something as impressive as FB, Twitter or Mastodon all end up losing their morals to money, power or popularity. I assumed that the creator of Mastodon was one of the good guys (one of us freaks) and knew what it meant to be shut out and bullied simply for being different. Guess I was wrong, just another dweeb trying to be popular because being awesome wasn't enough. I hope someday he comes to his senses. In the meantime our instance won't be turning away any weirdos or normies just because we're told to. Enough with this school yard BS.
