@Frondeur @deprecated_ii I think its a fine comparison. But we can change it to looking at the median wage. I dont know how trustworthy it is, but just searching "Median yearly wage US" gives me ~$59k a year, or about $28.50/hr. This works out to be about 3.5 Big Macs an hour, which is still a decline from the proposed 6 from the 80s.

@Frondeur @deprecated_ii I dont know if this is a serious question, but it has triggered my tism distracted me from shit I should be working on.I couldnt find a specific year over year number of Big Macs sold, but I did find an article that stated that over 1 billion Big Macs were sold in 2024. Now that could be anywhere from 1,999,999,999 Big Macs or 1,000,000,001 Big Macs, or even higher, but I would guess that if they did over 2 billion, they would say that. Taking that number into consideration, I grabbed McDonalds Yearly gross profit. And for past 4 years they have increased profits by about ~10% year over year, but beyond that their profits were fairly stagnant (I could only go back to 2011). Breaking this down to the most back of a napkin as I can, Id say in the eighties they were probably selling somewhere close to the amount of big macs as always, seeing as the price was of the big mac was increasing as the years went by.It feels a little bit like a cop out, but I think any increase in volume of sales is outpaced by the increase of the price of each individual sale.

@m @deprecated_ii @Frondeur My reasoning has always been the outsourcing and continuous devalue of labor. If we're not outsourcing jobs, we're importing laborers, so while productivity nominally increases with other externalities like technological advancement, the value of an individuals labor isnt allowed to increase alongside those factors.

@Ariovistus And its on the most basic bitch story about Dwarf Fortress ever. Everyone has heard of Boatmurdered if they've had a passing interaction with Dwarf Fortress. I was expecting him to talk about the users or something that ran the campaign, but he litterally just read the forum post. There was a guy from 10 years ago who read out the forum posts, but he acted things out and had fun with it and shared more art from the thread. People that post things like that excessively are either people who are new to this line of thinking and they get over excited with finally being able to have words for emotions they had been feeling but unable to express (they wear themselves out eventually) or autistic that can't interface with conversations but understand that posting stuff like that elicits a generally positive "yeah fuck those guys" response so they repeat that.If people are being doomer and adding shit like "Theres nothing we can do" then you tell them to stop being a fag, go outside (or just get off x website) for like a day and come back.
