One of the many pages of restricted chemicals for tattoo inks and permanent make-up. https://echa.europa.eu/substances-restricted-under-reachA lot of people who ever asked "yeah yeah vaccinations, but who knows what is in them" have tattoos and they have no idea what is in the tattoo inks. As it turned out, over 4,000 chemicals were used that definitely are harmful for your body, for instance for your reproductive system.Oh, and to complete: here are the ingredients of the covid-19 vaccines.https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus/Covid-19-Knowledge-Base/Vaccine-Ingredients

Alcohol is bad enough as it is. Also, cycling along provincial roads, or near highways, The Netherlands has a lot of pollution.

Does astrology work? Ever since I learned to think for myself, my answer was, is, and will be: "hell no!". See the little picture I added. But a study went quite a bit deeper, and included the assistance and cooperation of many astrologers, including experienced ones.Interesting study that shows that astrologers' results cannot be distinguished from mere change, luck, coindicence. Spoiler alert: the anser is "no".https://x.com/SpencrGreenberg/status/1822663687145972105

The thread on Twitter starts with this:"Does astrology work? We tested the ability of 152 astrologers to see if they could demonstrate genuine astrological skill. Here is how the study was designed and what we found (including a result that really surprised me):..."

@futurebird Here at home we are re-watching binge-watching The West Wing. Speeches like these were prepared with big teams in that tv series, and I can't imagine Obama made his speech all on his own, without several people combing through it, proposing adjustments.Maybe you could contact the Harris campaign team and propose some texts for a next speech (if ever) by Obama, and a next speech by Harris.

@futurebird Yeah, you're probably right. But I learned the hard way: if I won't send a message, won't offer help, won't be specific in what I mean and why I would propose a text, ... well, it would go wrong.Because of me, small bits of texts have changed in Dutch regulations and laws (local and national), and even some EU stuff. The last time I did is 10 years ago.Anyway, if you don't propose to the Harris campaign team the specific things you wrote here, who will?

@futurebird The funniest priest (not a monk) I know about is Father Ted. Hilarious.https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0111958/We've been in the house where Father Ted was supposed to live (it was mostly only used in the trailer). We had tea and scones. It was lovely.

@futurebird It resembles the story of the movie "2012":https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080/(not my favourite movie, not very good, a bit silly even). There are several books with such a storyline, and the first that comes to mind is the horribly bad "Earth 2.0 Exodus" by Paul Henry Wand. Also sounds like it coud be an episode of Stargate SG-1, or Star Trek.

@futurebird In 2012, National Geographic made a documentary on how humanity would react if a neutron star, twice the mass of our Sun, would come to our solar system, and would utterly destroy all of it. Humanity has 75 years (or less) to evacuate.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lD7x4zWGYxIReview that is spot on when it comes to the many flaws of the documentary:https://www.imdb.com/title/tt2543838/reviews/?item=rw2845431&ref_=ext_shr_lnk

@futurebird You never met me and my wife @lizmat , but we are both transwomen, and both of us started transition 41 or 42 years ago and ended that transition with surgery and official name and gender change just 4 years after. We do not consider ourselves pretty normal, but as pretty weird, and proud of it. OK, still normal compared to many idiots, like MAGAts.Liz had a very supportive family, I had the opposite. My family is mostly gone now, and her family is now my family and I love them.

@jwildeboer Who copied it from whom? 🙂 Andrew Koenig wrote the book "C Traps and Pitfalls" and did the same recursive page number mentioning in the index. His book is from 1988/1989, and the second edition by Kernighan & Ritchis is from those years too.
