This one is really like an amusement park ride. Fast, high up, wobbly and noisy.

@mcc I don't think I've ever felt that adding CMake to a project has ever made anything EASIER.

So the vast majority of typos I make are, for some reason, that I either leave out an "s" at the end of a word, or I add one where it should not be. I really do not understand why, and I like to blame my keyboard for storing them up and emitting them at the wrong time. And just now I wanted to write "corrodes away", and as I posted, my brain went "I think you forgot that s, I think you wrote corrode away", so I went back to check and edit, and it turns out I wrote "corrodes aways".WHY

@jamatex @CStamp @futurebird Also, the theory is that humans did not domesticate cats, cats did.

@futurebird @jamatex @CStamp I did mean that cats domesticated themselves, but, you raise some interesting points.

@futurebird I dunno, seems like a pretty accurate recreation of the experience at the time? I never had or saw a player with any of those features, that sounds like luxury stuff!

@gwm Come on. It's 2024. At this point you need to be able bring yourself to admit that Jill Stein is Putin's puppet. She is supported by one of the biggest fascists in power today. It would be lovely to have a viable green party in the US. But *you don't have that*. You have a Russian op. Jill Stein is not what you want.Harris is far from perfect, but is also nowhere near is a fascist. Trump and Jill Stein, however, literally are.

@pixel @halcy Is it even possible to properly experience it without first spending the full 25 years following the metanarrative though. Can a new viewer even have any chance to understand why that ending is so good?

@futurebird I have the opposite thing: The more I learn about the so-called "reals", the less I understand them and the angrier I get at them.(Worst-named entity in maths as well. There's nothing more unreal than a "real").

@futurebird As a physicist, it also makes me extra uncomfortable that all of physics is built on top of real analysis.

@futurebird @nazokiyoubinbou There is the observable universe, which is a pretty reasonable upper limit, especially since the *reachable* universe is smaller than this.

@futurebird I think a good argument can be made that life is unfathomably unlikely to arise, and the anthropic principle holds and life arises nowhere else in the universe. Life is also a machine that creates ever increasing amounts of weirdness. But this argument, the weirdest thing has to be on Earth.

@davidgerard The Google AI overview has to be the single most infuriating AI I've ever come across. It feels *exactly* like interacting with a pathological liar. Just the way it will confidently tell you utter bullshit based on the vibes of what you put into the search box, bullshit that is just immediately obvious. It makes my skin crawl every time.

@floooh This is super cool, but also, even just hearing you talk about Vulkan rendering is enough to get a second-hand headache from the API.
