As always on a new anti-contact MAP/paraphile platform, I ask one thing:Есть тут хоть один русский? :DНе помню национальность Лектера, к сожалению.(For the rest - I'm trying to find a single Russian soul)

@paper_crook despite knowing @comrade_lecter since good old times, my memory fails to remember if he is Russian or not, and he didn't answer my call himself.Or do you mean someone else?

@comrade_lecter сообразил.

@comrade_lecter I've heard of accusations thrown at you and some other nnia members, won't recall all the names though.Didn't get deep into that one though, so don't know it all in detail (would like to, though)The fedi...yeah. Not being here for long, I see it doesn't go well. But, on the bright side, maybe that's good in a way? Those all are growing pains, and the drama will rise for a while, but it means that members switched from fight for survival, like in 2017, to discussion of internal conflicts. If done right, this might be beneficial for the community, as many tensions get sorted out over time.

@comrade_lecter due to "minor" also meaning "small, unimportant"?

Some thermonuclear mass defeds lately, generally in Mastodon and rest of fedi, not even only MAP instances.Anything happened, or is the fedi just being fedi?

@comrade_lecter Trying to make new terms to destigmatize Will. Never. Work.Antis are not stupid and they know it's the same thing wrapped differently. And it is, indeed.Only slow reclaiming of the existing words will get us anywhere.

@comrade_lecter as always, terms issue. But it's already something - a person recognizing that attraction to children does not mean abusing them is already a small win in my playbook.

@comrade_lecter I feel like we have to seriously rework all the gender/sex framework we built over the past decades, together with sexuality one, too.Because as things stand, it's trying to fix what's broken to begin with.Throwing in more and more terms and flags will never really fix the issue.First, yes, we need to come up with terms for people born with physical characteristics of male, female, and anything in between for primarily medical purposes - and terms like "müllerian", "wolffian" etc aren't the ones. We need terms that grow from actual medical background, not some Tumblr posters coming up with something slightly biological in its base. We need something systematic and strictly organized. And I don't think it needs flags - it's not a pride thing, it's a biological trait. You don't make flags for people with big noses or without a limb, do you?As per gender indentities, they should probably be more strictly defined and have more scientific background, too. Otherwise we get to the point where the identity you talk about is known to 1,5 people on the planet, making it more like a form of art rather than a useful term to define how you see yourself to other people.Oh, and screw excessive terms in general, because when this whole thing interlinks with sexuality, for example, it turns into quite a shitshow. It honestly gets there even with well-established terms, really. If you're nonbinary, for example, what term would you use for attraction to males? Or females? Or how do you call attraction to genderfluid people? Or maybe you're attracted to "wolffians", regardless of their gender identity? etc. etc., I hope I got the point across. The idea is not to refuse the complicated ways in which real identities work, but to rethink the very framework in which they exist to accomodate for all those changes instead of building on top of what worked well only when it was binary. And as part of it, we should come to some sort of centralized, evidence-based consensus on how new elements of the system are built and how they get interlinked.I sincerely hope this won't come off as any sort of attack on anyone with any identities, I'm just saying that this way of creating new terms actually prevents effective communication of one's identity to others, instead of promoting it.

@comrade_lecter the entire gender theory is about removing "female" from "physical characteristics of female". Basically, it comes to the point where by "female" we mean "person of female gender" by default. And that's good.Explaining yourself over and over defeats the purpose of using the term in the first place. There's only so much headspace to memorize various aspects of life, terms on gender, sex and sexuality included. What falls out will never be remembered by the majority of people, forcing yourself to explain each of them forever (which could be shorter done by not introducing the term to begin with; besides, terms are always limiting)Terms also have to be universal. If your definition of queer sexuality differs from that of another person, that again defeats the purpose of a term, which is to make a word that would be universally understood by others knowing the same word. If I say "fridge" - you don't imagine a lamp, you imagine a fridge. And you know it's a device, most commonly rectangular, that is used to create an environment with a temperature higher than 0°C, but lower than room temperature. Should you have another vision for what a fridge is, there would be no use for us to speak in these terms. So, we should agree on what is fridge - and what is queer, and how it relates to nonbinary identities. Most likely, here we have to call for academia to analyze most common uses of the necessary words and establish an official definition based on that information.
