@lowqualityfacts fun actual fact. Leaving at item in your cart for over a month will get it in stock or in transship at the closest Amazon warehouse. Because of this you can pretty much always get 1-2 day shipping Unless it isn't an item fulfilled by Amazon.

@volpeon I just imagined a scholarpunk and basically just imagined a librarian, with a bigger whip than usual.

@catarinac @aral The only solution is going need to be a change to IP laws. Drug companies are price gouging while doing research to develop with public money. They are down locking the production so we cant have them doing that anymore.

@volpeon i built one in college, large touch screens really didnt exist then. So using a layer of silicon gel, a difuser, a camera down at the bottom center and a ir transparent visual light mirror. The table glass or acrylic was edge lit with ir leds and the camera in the table has an ir filter so it only sees the reflected light as the silicon changes the optical properties of the acrylic when pressed.

Coworker: youve become a paranoid conspiracy theorist about internet of things" Me: "no, its a well known fact the iot company holding your account to control your devices sells your usage data to their 634 advertising partners, its in the TOS. Disconnecting from the internet and maintaining functionality is not a delisional request. Also they arent paying me for the data they take" Coworker: "._. " Me: "i bought the device, i control what i purchase" What is wrong with that, for real whats wrong with demanding functionality and privacy?

@lanodan @volpeon just about every magic spell involving nighttime and flame has you burning things at midnight. There are alot of people who now truly believe nothing at all can be done. I just got done burning some paper notes in a candle because i remember 20 years ago

@phoronix @Cenbe thanks but I still have many good reasons to avoid virtualbox. I still suspect they are going to do a rug pull and demand a subscription for it any day.
