@MeBigbrain @MelGibsonafter4Beers They need to branch out from the horror genre to get some more traction as a device to be used for a feature length film that is fresh and not a trope at this point. People just expect them to be used for a VHS tier short story compilation or a paranormal activity haunted house filler and jump scare fest since the style has a lot of limitations, not to mention most found footage films are cheap direct to streaming garbage. I talked to someone years ago who had an idea for a crime caper movie using found footage elements to show the way the heist was planned and carried out as a way to mislead the cops and get away with it. Cannibal holocaust probably did it the best in the genre since it literally blew people's minds and caused people involved with the production to get arrested.

@sjw @Tepid_Tapir When it comes to medication for animals sometimes it's easier to find a similar product with the same/similar active ingredient you need and dose it down. Cat had a stress related rash with blisters on it's mouth, internet said to take it to the vet to get a rx for it which means $200 minimum including visit fees. Read through a forum post about cats with the same problem and someone listed a brand name medication, looked up the active ingredients and it turned out to literally be rx neosporin for cats so i just put on some normal neosporin from the cabinet and the rash went away within a week.

@Herodor If you have the room for it get a barbell, bench and a rack. That way you have the equipment you need in order to do just about about anything and can add onto it as time goes on if you're serious about lifting (dumbells, pulley system, trap bar, etc). A lot of the gym machines have the problem of helping you target muscle groups without having to learn the process of targeting them without the machine (the difference between shoulder pressing 100 pounds seated on a machine vs getting 100 pounds up and over your head so that you can shoulder press it on the bar)Personally, I had trouble losing weight with calisthenics, despite doing them frequently during the week over 6 months, eventually I got literally a single kettlebell to use and within a month I saw some results and it spurred me on to get a whole weight lifting set up. Since then in the last 3 years I have lost 50 pounds, put on a ton of muscle, and can post decent results on all the major lifts, just by putting a weight rack in my garage and visiting it 3 times a week with a game plan.

@dharmadudebro As an Italian American of Northern descent I can tell you what irks me the most is 90% of the Italians here are genuinely all Sicilian/southern/mulignan. Northern Italians are more Austrian/German/Czech/French influenced depending on where in the north you are and what areas you border. Besides being taller, fairer, healthier, and smarter than southern Italians the background is either much more Industrious and either Urban or Agrarian. From a cultural stand point everything that is considered part of the standard American Italian stereotype is based on bastardized versions of southern Italian cuisine and culture and charicature. The other thing I find is every single Southern Italian America will say "my family left Italy because they wanted to flee Fascism", whereas my Family staid and fought for Mussolini in Africa and WW2 and I have the paperwork and photos to back it up. If someone says yeah I'm Italian I love Canoli and a-spaghetti meatball I know right away that they're a southern nigger, and per my Grandma you don't mess with a mulignan lest you get a wooden spoon to the ass.

@sjw I went in to get a new phone recently and a lot of their trade in deals where given with the caveat that you upgrade your existing plan to a new 5G plan to try and get people off of old legacy unlimited plans. They even try and get people to upgrade their individual lines within a family plan. The trade in I had was valued at $10 but if I signed up for the new plan they would give me $300 for it as an incentive to trade in for the new phone on the new plan.

@scatPolice @sjw In my case, my cost is like $40/mo for my line, and upgrading it to their new plan would be an introductory rate of $55 which would later turn into $60 but the idea would be for me to be pestered into financing a phone now at a seemingly reduced monthly rate only to get locked into a higher cell bill contract forever.

@graf I remember thinking this movie was halfway decent and had some good funny moments in it even though it turns into what you expect it to be at the end. The sequel sucked even though it had a decent premise with the subteranean lizard people, it just had shittier writers and less budget overall.
