@Tusky I tried using a fork called Pachli and also installed Sunup to get notifications. I changed my mind and went back to Tusky and deleted the former software. But ever since, I'm no longer getting any notifications from Tusky.What am I missing?

I have some downtime at work, so I decided to use the 3 app to see what new phone I could get to replace my current four year old model.That's an option to trade in your old phone for a discount by supplying the IEMI number. The results went very encouraging.

@rosey Maybe it's just me, but I find it amusing that you need beefy PCs with expensive GPUs to get ray tracing but yet developers have been faking the lighting effects for years in games and it's looked almost as good.

I've just seen that Ubisoft is remaking/remastering/something Prince of Persia: Sands of Time. Apparently it's due in March next year.I played the GameCube version again back in 2017, it's a great game but does have a few niggles.https://wp.me/pdn8ew-4r9

I'm starting to think we should take films like Escape From New York (1981), No Escape (1994) and Doomsday (2008) and flip their narrative. Instead of creating vast enclosed spaces to hold prisoners, we should build them for ourselves.The people who care, can think logically and love cats (not a strict rule I don't want to exclude people because of it.) can lock ourselves away from the crazies of the world. 😁

This evening, back in a hotel for work, I was glued to my Steam Deck once again.I'm really enjoying Dead Space once again, playing the original PC release from 2008.It runs flawlessly at 60fps and everything loads so fast, the bit in between chapters never gets a chance to be shown properly!Then I purchased Dying Light for just £3. I was inspired by a YT video that showcased old games that still look good. I played through Dead Island 2 last year and this looked like more of the same. 👍

After the first half hour or so, Dead Space 2 is definitely leaning harder into the action. It feels like it's thrown more enemies at me than the original game did in the same time frame. DS1 was much slower in raising the tension in a wonderful gothic technological space ship. DS2, I'm in a hospital, somehow the horror has happened here as well. It feels like the game is saying, "You loved the 1st, this is more the same, let's go!'/1

I played DS2 on Xbox360 near launch having loved the original and honestly can't remember anything about it. I don't have my classic space suit yet, so maybe once that happens, the havre will pause, take a little breath, maybe not be in so much of a rush. I haven't decided if I'm going to carry on to DS3 yet. The general internet consensus is that EA ruined the franchise with the 3rd game and it's mostly derided. I never got around to playing it./2 end.

Thanks to a tip off from @COMPU73E , I've spent the entire evening trying out and tweaking Octopi Launcher. (Because Nova Launcher looks to be turning to the dark side!)I'm REALLY fussy (Autism™) when it comes to trying other launchers, nothing comes close. It doesn't help that I've used Nova for over a decade. However, I do believe Octopi has done it and I've really enjoyed customising my phone and tablet. I've even gone full pro and donated to the author.

There is only one small niggle. On my phone, I can't add a web page as an app shortcut to the home screen. Yet this works fine on my tablet.I'm sure it's a permissions setting somewhere but I can't find it.
