St.Elizabeth's Church, Wrocław, PolandAmong the oldest churches in Wrocław and the tallest buildings in the Old Town, St. Elizabeth's is unmistakable. A church has stood on this site since the 12th century, but the current Gothic structure dates to the 14th and 15th centuries. This is not the luckiest church in the world: it was destroyed in 1529 by heavy hail, suffered severe damage in WWII, and then was the victim of a mysterious fire in 1976https://www.inyourpocket.com/wroclaw/st-elizabeths-church_18828v#travelphoto #myphoto #Poland #wroclaw

St.Mary Magdalene Church, Wrocław, PolandThe church was situated to the east of the Wrocław market square, with which it was connected by a short and wide street called Hens Market (forum pullorum), where in the later medieval period vegetables, fruit, poultry and milk were sold. At that time, the nearest area of the church was fenced with a wall with several wickets leading to small courtyards to the south and north of the church. Within them, there was a parish cemetery and a few more residential buildings, including the parish school, already recorded in 1267.https://medievalheritage.eu/en/main-page/heritage/poland/wroclaw-st-mary-magdalene/#myphoto #travelphoto #travel #poland #wroclaw

Church of Saint Adalbert, Wrocław, PolandThe first Romanesque church of St. Adalbert was built at the beginning of the 12th century and consecrated in 1112 by Bishop Żyrosław I. It was the first church on the left bank of the Odra River, probably founded by the nobles in the times before the town’s foundation. Under the order of Pope Eugene III of 1148, the church of St. Adalbert was handed over to Augustinian canons from Sobótka, simultaneously serving as a parish church, and from 1226, thanks to Bishop Wawrzyniec, it belonged to the Dominicans brought from Kraków.https://medievalheritage.eu/en/main-page/heritage/poland/wroclaw-st-adalberts-church/#myphoto #travel #travelphoto #poland #wroclaw
