My opinion is that the government should have limited responsibility thus limited taxation and let people organize their own charities to do good services in the city. By government picking up social services they absolve people of their human responsibility to help each other. Ex. I pay my taxes to the city for homeless shelters thus it is their job to figure it out. Also, govt is the worst at managing money so you lose alot to swindlers and bureaucracy.
