@foone this is why my first language was applescript. Making minecraft mods was hard, but I found this funny little programming thing on my parents computer that could make it speak and open the web browser, and it wasnt hard at all (except when it was royally frustrating lol)

@futurebird I think futuristic images have died more in the last 10 yrs than the 10 prior. Speakling as an American Queer in their early 20's, I remember lots of optimism for the future still present in the 00s and 10s. Americans rode the high of gay marriage and the internet boom of the early and mid 10s for a long time, and to me the idea of futuristic shifted from shiny, 50s style space future with a touch of solarpunk to something more communicative and internet themed over the course of the 10s. Nowadays I dont think many progressive people share a common, concrete vision of the future. Im focusing on community and my personal vision for the future involves helping my friends when I can, and it's paying off well. It's the only futurism Ive seen come to a fruition I really like

@soatok my guess is AI scraper. That's the same time of day they hit sites that I work on. I suspect but cant confirm they specifically choose hours where there's less site traffic and things are less likely to totally crash and also when people on the west coast are working at the AI companies. Im in the Pacific time zone for anyone who wants to compare notes. For anyone reading this, feel free to let where/when you are and what your experience is like.

@detondev the only things I want to convince people of are to stay safe and build hope.I think safely leaving is an option that is more than justified for many. I think the economy and dismantling of our federal agencies are enough to tip midterm elections back in our favor, but it's gonna be awhile until those are done, and even afterwards, it will be rough. If you have or can get local, queer community, now is a good time to be there for yourself and others. Just showing up can help everyone.

@futurebird i think every 3rd estate sale I went to in Reno was a house with that sort of horror. Idk why it was so popular there, but it was.
