I was driving with my 10-year-old niece when “Sylvia’s Mother” by Dr. Hook (1971) came on the oldies station. Two nearby Burger Kings went out of business in my small town. One is being turned into a marijuana dispensary and the other into a fast food restaurant that sells deep fried carnival food all year round. Yet, still, some people deny that there's a supreme master intellect designing the universe.

I understand that it is theoretically possible for a person to post a recipe online without detailing the last 300 years of their family history before listing the ingredients and cooking instructions I just don’t run into it that often.

I mentioned to my girlfriend that I needed to stop at a used bookstore. She asked why I couldn’t just read one of the hundreds of unread books already on my shelves. She’s a very nice person and we’ve managed to stay together despite her blurting out bat shit crazy stuff like this on occasion. I imagine I have my issues, too.
