While intellectually I’d quite like to watch the debate, it means consuming 45 odd minutes of TFG blathering. The price is too high.

@historyofpunkrock He did quote Shelley on Ugly on their first album. But still, without Dave Greenfield I think they’d’ve been just another punk band

I said, "Slow, don't go so fastDon't you think that love can last?"She said, "Love, Lord aboveNow you're tryin' to trick me in love"Free, with All Right NowFree were a UK band formed around Paul Kossoff, a scion of a famous acting family. Sadly, he didn’t even make it into the 27 club, falling into drug abuse after his band broke up and dying at the age of 25 The epitaph on his memorial plaque reads All Right Nowhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vqdCZ0yHNa4 #JukeboxFridayNight #LoveSongs

A great day spent with friends from our university days. A solid walk in the Brook-Waimārama Sanctuary, a drink in the Golden Bear at Māpua Wharf on its first night of the new season, then back to our place for Boeuf Bourguignon and Ratatouille cooked by yours truly and a lemon cake baked by my beloved. Going off for a snooze soon.

@historyofpunkrock My favourite punk album would be Rattus Norvegicus, without a doubt. "When I say ugly, I don't mean rough-looking, I mean hideousss"

Aotearoa friends, who are we using for domain name registration these days? I've been with I Want My Name since forever but they have jacked their prices way up. I have about ten names, mostly .nz with a couple .com and .org

@lightweight most practices use Medtech to manage patient records. It’s a private sector company started in NZ. Medtech is typically on-prem I believe but they have started offering a cloud product, the blurb of which states that records do not leave NZ so they are celarly aware of the sovereignty issues. I haven’t been able to uncover any shared ownership with MMH (which it appears is owned by the CEO, Vino) but it’s worth noting that Medtech sold to a US investor about a year back. https://medtechglobal.com/nz/banyan-software-purchases-medtech-global/

@lightweight we don’t know that one way or the other, but the US CLOUD act would give a foreign govt the right to silently demand any or all of the records. Or even have an API so they could keep their copy up to date.

@lightweight My view is that central govt should supply these services to GP practices, possibly through a suitable single outsourcing contract, not because govt would necessarily be better but because there is then a single point of accountability. At the moment there’s no-one to hold accountable except a wide range of very busy GP practices that we have no choice but to use and which lack the skills to recognise good IT security anyway. Let the doctors get on with doctoring!
