@BrodieOnLinux in defense of the commenter, nowadays the word “feature” is often understood to mean something additional, something nice to have, not a hard requirement. It's not the dictionary definition of the word but it's a common understanding of it and if the commenter isn't a native English speaker, they might've thought that it's the actual meaning of the word. That doesn't excuse their slight aggressivity, but responding passive-agressively doesn't help either...

@libreleah the bitrot would be even worse considering Canoeboot exists, which is actually up to date. So diehard free-software-absolutists would end up using that instead. While people who need some hardware from after the turn of the century can happily use Libreboot (or rawdog Coreboot if they're courageous enough)

@BrodieOnLinux ok hear me out: since macs nowadays don't run on x86, and don't have a traditional MBR-based BIOS, they're not IBM PC compatible. Thus not PCs under the historical understanding of the word. That being said, most other computers, that come without CSM nowadays, aren't either…
