The recent change of hypertension to ">130/80" is definitely a move toward gaining more patients (symptom wise 130s/80s is fine), but we have learned more about medicine and chemicals in the body since the 1980s. Just because acceptable levels were changed from the original goal post doesn't mean the change was driven solely by greed.
