When you are typing a toot, do you see a little globe icon below the text box? Well, that little thing controls the audience for the Toot. The last line "Mentioned people only", is basically your direct message option. Only the people you mention in the toot see it and can respond. When they respond, audience is set to "Mentioned People Only" by default. If you don't mention anyone in such toots, well, only you can see it. Helpful?

Need to rid myself off the need for validation. It's a toxic cycle that social media pushes on you, and you get so caught up with the high that even a subtle low can feel catastrophic. It's bloody scary!

@stux When I had the opportunity to move out of the country, all I said was "Anywhere but the USA". I agree, it was a dream destination, still is for a lot of people in my country. But I don't want to live in a country where I don't know if my kid is safe in school.
