@r000t I think she’s referring to a very niche group of people. It’s one thing to have a fresh start and want to try again someplace new and another to come under the guise of newness and friendly smiles when you were making someone else’s life hell 72hrs ago.

@BlackAzizAnansi If this ain't the mf truth. As much as I don't want to return to twitter, I'm not happy here as a content creator and small biz owner. I rely on social media for clientele and it's literally palatable how unwanted that is here. Especially as I work in a service that the larger community scoffs at, I can't even get my content shared for those who might be interested to see it. Even the instances created for my niche then have the whiteness issue. Shit is rough.

@lowqualityfacts growing up online my mindset was always if this isn't going to evolve into an actual physical altercation, we don't need to be going back and forth. Toxic yes, but now I'm an adult and have found I still feel the same exact way 😂

I'm trying to get back into posting on here... I went pretty much 👻 for months after like my 2nd month on because I felt/feel out of place on here. As a space that is heavily into politics, academia, tech, and science-- finding my lane for #astrology, #tarot, #occult, #spirituality type of interests and posting content around that didn't/doesn't feel very wanted. The way I'm starting to see it is we can either keep talking about how and why #mastodon is not attractive to Black people or we can just start shifting the environment by being unapologetically ourselves. I do believe people will gravitate here if they see it's fun to do so and that they can have a place here. @calculsoberic Ah! Yeah, I've definitely pulled some not so great things before that ended up coming to pass in the world. There's a girl on YouTube who reads and channels messages and like a year before COVID she kept getting the message "Keep clear of Corona." Once the pandemic was under way someone pointed out that she spoke on it.
