A belief system that contradicts this is incompatible with the world's largest religion."Religion" can't be reduced to the belief that "We should be nice to each other," because many atheists believe we should be nice to each other, too. It must involve who God is and what he expects of us.The pursuit of knowing the true God and his will leads to the ultimate good. It's our one job. Belief in a fake god leads to futility. Symbols and analogues are fine if we realize they are merely symbols representing that which is true.

@thenewoil I use Signal with some people, but couldn't this issue of cost be an argument for decentralized protocols like XMPP or Session or Matrix? I know Signal has led the way with great work, but I like the idea of not putting all my eggs in one centralized basket.

@rmaffeo Please reconsider.We are saved through the Catholic Church -- the Body of Christ -- not by an errant, disobedient pope. This will all be made right, but we can't fix it by cutting ourselves off the Body -- even if the pope does that to himself.

If the "sanctuary" of your church is really a band stage with guitar stands, a drum set, and multicolor stage lights, and a Plexiglas lecturn at front and center, it's not as "Christ-centered" as it should be.
