@thegibsonI've been listening to a bunch of political punk rock lately and am probably feeding my negativity a bit too much. There is no good or acceptable(to me) option. We need a reboot. Even voting a dem into office will not fix it. He'll just tell you what you want to hear yet still screw you over. That's worse than Trump to me. We need an iconoclast POTUS.

@freemo Thanks, but that was a very hollow request. These days I don't travel to the more northern States as I hate cold and love the heat. I really do admire your lab. I dream of having something like it someday.

@Gina Here in my area of the US, you've got to come up with first and last month's rent plus a deposit just to move in. Many landlords and apartments have either done away with leases and have gone to a month to month contract or if you will sign a lease, rent costs less. Most contracts have a 30 day eviction timeframe but I think tenants can stretch it out to 90 days before law enforcement removes them. What are the rules like there?

@Gina They're not one month contracts but month to month contracts which can be terminated with 30 days notice by either party. The only reason I'm up on this is because I have adult children who are renting.

@Gina One landlord that I spoke with said he was so tired of dealing people breaking their leases, he finally decided to increase the rent a bit and go month to month actually decreasing his headaches. He's smalltime and leasing a single house. My parents did this in Austin and then again in Oxford, Mississippi. I was closer to both of them then they were when they moved to Florida. Guess who got a phone call whenever something went wrong?

So my daughter recommends I watch Tiger King, "A show on Netflix where a redneck, gun crazy, gay polygamist raises tigers in Oklahoma".I couldn't make this up. Apparently it's real and has much more controversy than that(including murder for hire, feeding people to tigers, FBI involvement and running for president). What kind of train wreck is this? There's a part of me drawn to watching it.

When I went to see the surgeon about my shoulder, he told me that he thinks the flu that was in the US in November of last year was probably coronavirus. Now another doctor friend/aquaintance has said the same. I've heard it in a few other places. Could this all just be one big wag the dog?

@brandon You're missing alot. Can't trust any numbers out of China. Can't trust our press to report the truth (they've got a POTUS to screw over). We've basically shut down our country, if that's not taking it seriously, I don't know what is. People are sick, hurting and worried for their future. Situations like this normally bring out the best in people and, unfortunately, the worst in a few. Let's endeavor to not fall into that second category.

@brandon This had to be one of the swiftest federal responses in history or at least faster than the response to the swine flu. Please stop maligning our country. It seems like you're enjoying this. I'm no fan of trump, reps, dems or our gov't but this situation rises above that. We are all Americans and we need to stick together. You're not being a part of the solution and you're not one of us.

@klaatuActually, he was roundly criticized for shutting down travel from China, called a xenophobe and ridiculed. He should have shut down all international travel at that time because Europe didn't shut down travel. Most of the domestic cases are traced to Europe. I wish this wasn't an election year. The posturing over this issue disgusts me. We need to do what's best for our citizens.
