@futurebird I think your logic has some merit and I am guilty of saying “oh NOW…” to new comers announcing they have just arrived from #X.Perhaps I should have instead asked, what was it that made you decide not to leave X until now, that has suddenly changed? The ethical issues with continuing on X are not new, they haven’t even escalated that much (from a lot bad to more mad) in the last year or so.I am perhaps a little sensitive about it because I left soon after #Musc acquired #Twitter, and I gave up a substantial amount of interaction that I both enjoyed socially and valued in my work. I still miss much of it today.I know a lot of good people who stayed, that did so because they had built an asset that they were reluctant, or felt unable to leave behind. I don’t know where they are in terms of social media today but I wonder how they feel.I am neither angry with people arriving today, nor wishing to congratulate them for their delayed response to what will surely go down in history as one of the great plagues of ‘civilization’.I will continue to welcome and engage with new people that arrive here with simple grace, not so much those that arrive with what appears to be a sense of entitled triumph.

Just listened to #AngusTaylor at the #PressClub. So, the coalition’s shadow Treasurer says that it is an absolute truth that if you inclrease SUPPLY, you reduce prices, hence this is their strategy for gas prices. To solve the housing solution however, they are going to increase DEMAND (by making it easier to borrow money), and this will apparently address the acutely shortage of supply.🤷🏼♂️#AusPol
