@futurebird Not gonna help with the slop problem but have you tried "pair of compasses" in your search? That's what my technical drawing instructor always called them.

@futurebird @imalcolm I think The Wasp Factory is his _most_ disturbing and confusing work. At least it was for me.

@stux At the end of the first shot the camera starts to pan up to folloow the guy out. Is this normal security cam behaviour?

@RealJournalism Sadly I expect the current US administration to suppress the publication of official crime statistics. People's perception of crime and risk is normally significantly higher than the actuality and this comes out in the stats. Probably through the simple expedient of shutting down the relevent departments. For any authoritarian regime having your population fearful and demanding more police is a win, so ... suppress the stats.

@futurebird @RealJournalism In various videos it was unsettling to see western residents in Shezen, China discussing the almost complete absence of street crime (apparently a big change from previous decades) and drop being correlated with the installation of ubiquitous AI-driven camera surveillance.Assuming their perception is correct would I prefer that? Not sure...

@futurebird If you do want to make an intervention please work out what is actually going on. Hoarding and Compulsive Shopping are different and usually have different roots. I know several hoarders and none of them shop, in fact many are extremely thrifty. Shoppers may not mind having a clear out but hoarders may literally _never_ forgive you. So please take care and get professional advice.

@futurebird Weirdly appropriate that Trump wants to be associated with suicide pacts.(I know Dharma says Don't Fear the Reaper isn't about a suicide pact; but seriously, it's hard to interpret those lyrics any other way (unless it's vampires))

@futurebird I don't know; but in the episodes I have seen they appeared thoughtful and compassionate, and had done their homework on what to do and not do for people with specific issues.

@futurebird I think they will continue to be disappointed. LLM generated anything is, at best, "good enough". The more specific your need, the less likely an AI is to meet it.LLMs don't understand anything, they have no underlying model of the world. So they make crazy mistakes that no human would make while creating things that look superficially correct.

@futurebird And, in general, artists are very specific and demanding 🙂.

@futurebird These people live in a seperate community that is geographical congruent with your world but not part of it. They do not want to interact at all with the city and its people & don't care what happens there. They cannot fly or use private tunnels yet, so their cars have to pass through your world & are therefore built to avoid any interactions. They dream of buying totally seperate spaces to get around, then they could ignore you entirely.

@samir Yeah, but hexagons are just would-be-triangles that lack commitment.
