Gina Rhinehart, Australia's richest woman, has been trying to use her power and influence to remove a painting of her from the National Gallery. She has even got swimmers that her company sponsors to write letters to have it taken down.Renowned Aboriginal artist Vincent Namatjira is famous for a caricature style which challenges power structures, and he says his Australia in Colour series is no different.Ordinary Australians are not having a bar of this. They have raised 35% of the money raised to put the painting on a massive billboard in Times Square for the world to see. Organised by @danilicWant to help stick it to the multi billionare? Also ticking other phiahing boxes.Without any information being placed on official channels that this might be about to happen and is legit.

**Measles Alert NSW***#Gosford Hospital #Erina #Wamberal#CentralCoastThe case recently returned from South-East Asia, where there are ongoing outbreaks of measles in several countries.People who attended the following locations should watch for symptoms. 📌Tuesday 4 March 2025▪ Gosford Hospital Emergency Department from 4.30am to 4.15pm 📌Saturday 1 March 2025 ▪ Wamberal beach, 1pm to 3.45pm. ▪ Woolworths Erina Fair, 620-658 Terrigal Drive, Erina from 4pm to 4.30pm“Symptoms to watch out for include fever, runny nose, sore eyes and a cough, usually followed three or four days later by a red, blotchy rash that spreads from the head and face to the rest of the body,” Dr Taylor said.“It can take up to 18 days for symptoms to appear after an exposure, “If you develop symptoms, please call ahead to your GP or emergency department to ensure you do not spend time in the waiting room with other patients.“We want to remind the community to make sure they are up to date with their vaccinations. The measles vaccine can prevent the disease even after exposure, if given early enough.“Anyone born after 1965 needs to ensure they have had two doses of measles vaccine. This is especially important before overseas travel, as measles outbreaks are occurring in several regions of the world at the moment."The measles-mumps-rubella (MMR) vaccine is safe and effective, and is given free for children at 12 and 18 months of age. It is also free in NSW for anyone born after 1965 who hasn't already had two doses.Children under the age of 12 months can have their first dose of MMR up to six months earlier if they are travelling to areas with a high risk for measles. Parents should consult their GP.People who are unsure of whether they have had two doses should get a vaccine, as additional doses are safe. This is particularly important prior to travel. MMR vaccine is available from GPs and pharmacies #measles https://www.health.nsw.gov.au/Infectious/factsheets/Pages/Measles_Factsheet.aspx

Question:Would Australian election results have a different result if instead of a pencil and paper, you had a tablet in each booth. To vote you would go through a Vote Compas type style questionnaire based on policies. You could then select the recommendation to cast your vote, or re-order as you wish.#Auspol

@pattykimuraDon't forget Iran used to be a democracy.Until they wanted to nationalise oil. As US and British oil companies were taking the oil with little local benifit. The US and British organised a coup and installed a new leader, which lead them down the path of anti west religious leaders and treatment of woman, they have today. Consequences can be felt many many decades later @alanferrier

@lardmotel Unless you are in the US buying something from Australia or the rest of the world.Or your business regularly ships products to the US.So actually quite a few people actually.Particularly since Australia had a free trade agreement, signed by a certain president. And the reason a new system is needed is because the US can't handle collection of the tarrif changes they did.Just another day in the so called land of the free, stuffing up international trade because they are incompetent.

@jhaue It is level two autonomous driving.Computer does the easy stuff. When it is faced with a complex issue, it doesn't know how to respond to, it hands over to a driver.A driver, who hasn't been paying attention.Has no situational awarenessHas reduced skills, because they have been relying on the car to drive and have not driven much. What could go wrong.

@collectifission @publius @n_dimension The question still stands. How much electricity has Hinkley C generated? How much has UK solar has bwen built and generatored in the same time?Which is cheaper?Information you provided doesn't show anything relevant.Just like previous responses I have had from the two of you. Almost as if you are LLM bots or paid PR from the fossil fuel industry.

@futurebird Local council renovated the local ferry wharf area. There are a few of these solar powered charging benches at the waterfront now.Down the big smoke, in Sydney, there are bus shelters, kiosks, toilets, information panels. The contact owner pays for the regular cleaning and maintenance. But the council also get to display information, event information and the police can have emergency information displayed. Eg NYE or VIVID they might use it to direct people away to other areas that are not over crowded. The city also has a volunteer ambassador program, that sees people at Circular Quay, and roving around the city, to give advice and knowledge on local landmarks, attractions, transport, shops and restaurants etc. They also have a town crier.
