There is clearly a problem uploading images on mastodon.me.uk at the moment, so I am going to have to describe the image I currently wish to upload instead:"Stephen McGann, bronzed and entirely naked, with an astonishingly well-formed six pack, gazing out of his Tuscan mansion at his ripening crop of olives whilst riding his rescue Llama, Octavian."

Last week I heard a speech by Prof. Dame Sarah Gilbert. She of the Oxford vaccine. A woman whose team's work is calculated to have saved several million lives. She warned that Britain's dismal failure to remember, learn and expand on the hard fought achievements of the last few years placed us back to square one when (not if) it happened again. This piece is a depressing demonstration of that.https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/science-environment-63638501?at_custom2=twitter&at_medium=custom7&at_campaign=64&at_custom3=Regional+BBC+South&at_custom4=74B2C3F4-6594-11ED-B6DF-BD770EDC252D&at_custom1=link

Nothing of my past stays vertical. My childhood neighbourhood - my old school - reduced to rubble and replaced with something else that faded faster. I've watched prefabricated estates rise and die in the time it took for puberty to scar my face and ruin my grades. The constant rubble-making has given my life the feel of the cartoon train escapee, hurriedly laying new tracks in front of a speeding train locomotive as the old tracks disintegrate. The forced smile of interesting times.

Woo! Got my hands on the latest little camera modules from @Raspberry_Pi !! #Raspberrypi Three versions - regular, a wide-angle, and the infra-red-filter free flavour. Look forward to playing with these when I get a minute (haha) The new lens is noticeably wider and taller (third pic, left) than my version 2 one (third pic, right)
