Anyone good with #PowerAutomate? I used to have a flow that would move emails into an out of office folder when my auto replies where turned on. And for the life of me I can't remember how I configured this... @academicchatter

I can really feel that I haven’t been able to exercise for a week due to this cold wiping me out…Excited to get back into bump exercises tomorrow with the Tone it up app. The exercises are so fun and easily done at home

Due to a misunderstanding I basically wasted hours on a grant proposal my institution isn’t supporting it…at least it’s in the bank for another go. And given I’m going on mat leave the end of March it’s maybe for the best… #AcademicLife

If you're a UK based researcher it's' now #REF 2029. If you are not in the UK the REF is a way for UK academics to tell each other how great they are...and it's then used to distribute most the research funding...I think it's a waste of time and many I can't believe we haven't found a more efficient way yet...https://www.ref.ac.uk/news/update-on-initial-decisions/

I’ve been reading a lot about OPOL - one person one language - as that approach makes most sense for our family set up. Interestingly none of the information included exposure via YouTube etc. we started watching German TV via YT (in the background) and it’s made it so much easier for me to stick with German when talking to the baby…

My 1st week of #MaternityLeave and surprisingly I've been able to stay away from work things. Here's what I did to make the transition easier Part 1: 1: I added my planned last day to my email signature 3 months before starting mat leave; including when I needed to know things by to action them2: I started a handover folder and added to it over the last 3 months; so colleagues could ask questions3: Scheduled research project emails to go out so I can keep collecting data@academicchatter

@academicchatter Part 2 of #MaternityLeave prep4: I set up a mat leave folder in outlook and made a rule to move all emails in there and mark them read (so it looks like nothing was sent to me)5: Removed outlook from my phone6: Out of my control but starting over a bank holiday weekend definitely helped too7: Planned some activities to do before the baby arrives
