Why yes I did just go outside on the back porch to flip off the immense two-rotor helicopter thumping over the place at treetop height. I remain unconvinced of humankind's need for helicopters.

@stux Thank you, much appreciated. When I saw your block notice and contemplated moving, I remembered the “About the Author” page at the end of my WIP and felt the worry rise. Would like to stay put forever. Thank you as always for your good work.

@jquillin Hi, this might be adrift of where you're looking, but Patagonia Workwear. I grub around outdoors in their pants all winter and they're sturdy and comfortable. I like the site because they show little movies of people doing things, bending, walking, whatever, so you can get a sense of what the clothes feel like. Looked over the emergency kit in my car, prepping for a long drive. Batteries melted in flashlights. A night of meds from years ago, all wrong. No water, snacks, or toothbrush. Better now. Off we go, another american on the freeway. (Waves from the little gray Gen Coupe.)

Outside weeding for the first time in weeks. #LongCovid has whacked me hard lately, to the point where living on acreage feels like a mistake. It’s really nice out. I’ll try to make a little progress, then go take a nap. Don’t catch it.

@futurebird Years ago, I was on a walk along Seattle’s Lake Union at lunchtime, a young man in slacks and a white polo shirt. A woman pulled up in a really nice Mercedes, handed me her keys, and headed towards a nearby restaurant.Big decision moment. I called her back, and we had a good laugh.
