Although many SubGeniuses know her online and in person as Sister Decadence or Sis D, her human street name is Holly Hitch Mears. I am sure many of you remember the extreme generosity and Slack of the Frop/Decadence camp during the X-Day Drills in the years of glory. Some crude louts may remember her knock-out boobs even better. She spread joy, humor and Slack (and food, etc.) everywhere, and no doubt will again, but first she must get past this incredible and shocking roadblock in her life.

I don't know her, but I know her father via mail; it's a SubGenius family. Her dad has been EXTREMELY supportive of the Church in the past, with incredibly kind words, dollars, and bulldada collectors' treasures. However, RevEyevee has been on the dobbs.town forum lately, trying to regain some vestige of Slack, and her Dad says it's working! Another SubGenius lost her spouse very unexpectedly and tragically, the second such tragedy in SubGenius-land in so many months. This new widow, Rev. @Unabart I got my second epidural cortisone shot in my spine last Monday. It did not help nearly as much as the first one did, in December. That first one made a huge difference, eased the pain greatly for two months. Maybe the doc's aim wasn't as good this time. I have a gnarly lower back due to ankylosing spondylitis or "fucked up arthritic back" and also years of being the SubGenius roadie. The fossil collecting and mower lifting didn't help.

The movie showing at the Texas Theater on January 20 is not the SCARLET LOVE that I saw. Sadly, the director kept trying to prove he'd ALWAYS wanted people to laugh at his film, and spent years adding "comedy" scenes. He retitled it several times. Film editor Bob Murawski and writer David Szulkin got this project together, and there's more to come with restorations of the Dallas Badfilms of the late S. F. "Brownie" Brownrigg, my former boss. I was interviewed for that too. I'm one of the few surviving members of the old school Dallas film business. There is also a documentary in the works by Justin Powers called "IT CAME FROM TEXAS" about Texas bad films in general. He came out to Stang Ranch to interview me about these crazy-ass days.

For decades, whenever a curious person would search the Net for any mention of the film, it always led back to me, and that is why last year I did the commentary for the DVD of the restored film that is about to be released. The DVD also includes an interview with the widow of the director, conducted by me (and filmed by my son).

JAN. 20, Dallas - SCARLET LOVE returns!!!In THE BOOK OF THE SUBGENIUS, in the chapter on Bulldada and "Creative Truth," in 1982, I wrote, "And the greatest Badfilm of all time is SCARLET LOVE, *and you've never even heard of it!*" That was followed by a footnote explaining that it was a film made in Dallas that had been shown only in Dallas and only for a week, and a plea to readers to help us make it a famous cult classic. Now, 44 years later, that is finally happening!
