I remember last time the excuse for Wavlake refusing to care about/learn/build within the spec was something along the lines of them being massive perfectionists that wanted the experience to be perfect before pushing any changes? 🧐I think The Wait Is Over for a Wavlake "come to Jesus" moment. Podcasting 2.0 should not be a shim they just bugfix their code into when they break stuf. It should be a spec they build within. For *their own* sakes, not ours!

For those curious, a Ring of Fire is a channel opening strategy where we cooperate to open channels between our nodes in a circular fashion, then balance all those channels one time once they're all opened. This nets you 2 balanced channels for the price of opening just one, and it's the only way I open channels anymore, unless I need to provide someone inbound liquidity directly who is just starting out.This ring will be at 500k sats capacity, meaning you'd open 1 500k sat channel and get 2.

I know we operate under the "Rules for Standards Makers" which include:-One way is better than twoNo matter how much better the new way is, you'll still have to support the old way.And also:-No breakageVersion 2 of your format should be backward compatible. @StevenB I understand the addition of LNURL, but the abandonment of keysend (a change that would break v1 feeds that never update, which will be a non-zero number) makes zero sense to me. It should of course still remain possible to send keysend payments within apps that support it currently; it benefits no one to do extra work to pull out a keysend feature already in play in apps that currently use it.@algrid @adam @dave @merryoscar
