@cake It was a bit of a slog putting the 18' tree away (the real one was much easier to take down), but the nativity sets, garlands, bows, wreaths, nutcrackers, etc. didn't take long at all. 1 closet full is my hill. I just have to get better at tetrising it...

@Klaatu i've used Notepad++ to do this sort of thing (as well as may other tasks), but it doesn't have the OCR functionality.

@Klaatu The file format support is the key thing, it looks like. If you could search through archive formats in Notepad++, you could make do with it for things like epub and docx, but I think the devs want to avoid an Emacs situation and are conscious to severely limit the scope of the application to keep things fast and lean.
