@ukko As someone who lived in Québec in the '70s when the first French dominance laws were passed I have to laugh when Duolingo uses 'week-end' as French. 'S was a dirt outline on the end of the names on department store walls.

@mer @ukko The Québéc language laws were something of a follow uo from France. I remember the space age need to find French ways of saying blastoff and A-OK.Tabarnak!

@mer @ukko Sad to say language bullying is part of life in Québéc.

@Polychrome This is one of the problems for entertainers. Monopoly on venues. This seems a basis for suit, blocked from taking a child to a show.I wonder if this was used to capture the people in Penn Station that came to the city for a planned crime.https://abc7ny.com/antisemitism-terrorism-penn-station-weapons/12477284/

@internetarchive 1927!!In 2023!Doesn't that tell you that the system is grossly weighted towards wealth and ownership of "property" in all its possible fantasy forms?

@arstechnica "Full Self Driving Beta is dangerous"This recall seems too specific - going straight in a turn lane. The descriptive name is total BS, but then it's from Musk.

@jeffjarvis If a prospective judge says things about how rulings might be judged and then actually follows through on those statements, somehow that's unethical? But with SCOTUS conservatives, blunt lies or misrepresentations during evaluation make for good insider jokes when contrary rulings are made.It isn't that conservatives have no shame. It's that they're proud of that.

@KagroX @Tengrain And the members of Congress that in any way aided or abetted the insurrection cannot be expelled for their actions. This is standard. Repubs act. Dems lament.

@herhandsmyhands What I don't understand is why doesn't this effect how copyright can be used. You shouldn't be able to benefit from locking a work from view and still be able to keep control of it. Where's the benefit to creativity, corporate or individual, much less the public?
