@internetarchive @brewsterkahle yes I remember working in sound archives copying reel to reels to audio cassettes when digital processing cist a fortune and old tapes were catching fire in the racks - its always been a challenge to archive!

Not sure whats going on with the #UK #recycling centres - why do you need an appointment (and proof of identity) to visit one of these? Who can really schedule this in along with all the other hard to get appointments at the moment. Friend in Margate fills up her car boot with cardboard cause the bin men wont collect it. Hard to get the old folks to do anything on the internet so the #rubbish is gathering in the garden. And some people will still put their old sofas under the lampposts anyway..

Also saw the pay advertised for a recycle pick up truck driver advertised in the temp agency in the new town - £14.00 an hour - think of all the manoeuvres & how dangerous those things are and all the people working around the crusher..

Alert rant!! So a return to traditional UK values? -old folks or just those without cars having a clear out- must use the one an hour bus service (if you’re lucky to have one) to a stop far from the refuse tip (where you have pre-made an appointment of course), or perhaps a big bonfire or digging a hole for rubbish in the garden? Remember Post-Covid lots of women are expected just to give up their jobs to allow the men back to work in the office cause theres no affordable childcare..#UKTradition

Sometimes its the simplest part of a #Space mission that can go wrong & the complex products many people managed over the years in their hard work, can be lost by the simplest thing. In Space work everything is important from the lorry driver who delivers the parts & checks the route, to the cleaners, IT & site people that check the clean rooms. #SpaceIsHard there is not really a minimum viable proposition -you can lose it all in a heartbeat- well done & best of luck to ESA #Juice & the teams!

@blog @futurebird Also in the past wives grandparents and partners werent all working and someone could watch the kids let the dog out etc - now someone needs to be paid to do this and the wages dont cover this.
