I'm actually one of the five people who actually enjoy that movie still but the narrative about how the idea for cloverfield came to j.j. abrams when he saw godzilla figures and thought "america needs to get in on this" is as funny as it is historically disgustingthat's a nice movie about trauma inflicted by a war crime of so far unrepeated scale you've got there, would be a shame if the people who comitted it were toswipe it and make it about them

There's a long ongoing sentence starting at 3:07 that doesn't translate all that well to the written form but really cemented some observations that I've had myself over the years.Essentially: It doesn't matter if the majority of what platforms serve you is utter trash as long as you are still staying on their site.
